Pharrell Williams appeared on Ellen and explained to her that the title of his album GIRL is not only because he loves women, but that he is also a strong believer in equality for women. He then took a moment to point out:
"When I say equality, I mean equality for everybody. Everybody. Who you telling who they can marry and who they can't? What is this? This is 2014."
