Footballer’s gay porn video surfaces, targeted with hate online

A 25-year-old athlete is being subjected to vile homophobic abuse online after appearing in a pornographic film where he has gay sex

Irish Independent reports:

GAA star abused over alleged gay porn role

A GAA star has been subject to a stream of homophobic abuse after allegedly appearing in a gay adult video.

The video, which is pay-per-view, was uploaded last month and went viral online yesterday, with dozens of Twitter users passing comment.

Some accepted his apparent decision to appear in a pornographic film, but many hurled abuse or made crude jokes, while some expressed conern for the young man's well-being.

The man in the video uses a pseudonym, but his face is clearly visible. The well-known footballer at the centre of the internet storm was set to play a match this Sunday and spoke about it on Twitter on Tuesday.

But the father of one has since shut down his Twitter and Facebook accounts after receiving the torrent of abuse in response to online reports about him appearing in the film.

However, others were more supportive. One said: "I think the lads making fun are a crowd of idiots – obviously the man is in a bad, bad place!"

Another added: "Fair play ... whatever pays the bills."

The adult film is openly available on a well-known gay porn site where 'straight men' are convinced to engage in sex acts in exchange for money.

Gay Star News reports:

An Irish footballer is being targeted with a torrent of homophobic abuse online after allegedly appearing in a gay porn video.

The 25-year-old athlete, who plays Gaelic football, is being bombarded with a series of hate messages on Twitter after pictures reportedly of him were published.

The adult film is openly available on a well-known pay-only gay porn site where ‘straight men’ engage in sex acts for cash.

Posted online last month on The Casting Room, a man that appears to be the athlete is interviewed discussing his sexual preferences.

The man, given the pseudonym of ‘Fergus’, is wearing a London GAA top – the same team the footballer plays for. He is then seen giving and receiving oral and anal sex.

The footballer, widely named on Twitter, has not made a comment on the video.

Dozens of people have sent the player homophobic messages, calling him a ‘sick fag’.

But others gave him support, saying: ‘The homophobia coming from people is disappointing in 2014! If it was straight porn he'd be hailed a legend.’

Following the barrage of homophobic message, the athlete’s Twitter account was deleted last night (2 April).

Due to family members describing the athlete as ‘mentally unstable’, we have chosen to not name him.
