Honey Maid ad “Dad & Papa” released as part of “This is Wholesome” family campaign



This is a touching story of another real family in our new "This is Wholesome" TV commercial about how two traditional guys built their family on love and laughter.

The US company Honey Maid, best known for its graham crackers, has put out an ad featuring a two-dad family and their sons, titled “Dad & Papa,” as part of their “This is Wholesome” campaign about families today.

Other ads in the series include “Team of Two,” a single father with his son, and “Time Away,” with a black military family.

In “Dad & Papa,” the older of the two sons, an elementary school student, describes a fairly typical American family life of shared meals and talking about their days.

“None of it seemed real until we were matched with a birth mother,” one of the dads says, talking about the adoption of their first child. “When they did an ultrasound, I just remember feeling like…that was our kid.”

The other father adds, “We’re kind of traditional guys. Marriage, and a family, and having kids, that was always important to us.”

As with all parents, it’s all about the children. One of the fathers says, “I feel so much more meaningful as parents than it felt before. It’s almost overwhelming, that kind of love.”

A senior marketing director for the company, Gary Osifchin, told Gay Star News that the ads were created to reflect modern families of today. “We recognize change is happening every day, from the way in which a family looks today to how a family interacts to the way it is portrayed in media.

“We at Honey Maid continue to evolve and expand our varieties to provide delicious, wholesome products so they can be a part of everyday moments of connection in a world with changing, evolving family dynamics.”
