On March 12, Element Magazine’s Asia Pink Awards announced its collaboration with
Moovz.com, a new social network for gay men.
In a press release, the co-founder and CEO of Moovz, Liav Eliash, said
“Moovz is about making our users feel comfortable with who they are in a
community where they can be accepted. We feel that our collaboration
with the Pink Awards is a seamless one because the Awards share our goal
by recognizing those who have become leaders in the movement towards
social acceptance for LBGTQI individuals in their own communities. In
addition, individuals from all over the world will have the chance to
view the awards ceremony live via Moovz, a capability that would not
have been possible otherwise.”
Since its launch, Moovs has been
a place where gay men can find “a friendly community in which gay men
can connect with like-minded users locally and globally.” Unlike
Facebook, the main feature of Moovs is live chats, “making Moovz the
only platform of its kind in this sector.”
On Sunday, March 16,
the Asia Pink Awards are sure to be a topic of conversation—as viewers
watch the ceremony live on Moovs, starting at 8:00 pm Singapore time
(5:00 am Pacific/8:00 am Eastern).
The awards are a creation of online gay magazine
Element,
which is also celebrating its first anniversary at the ceremony.
According to its official website, the English-language publication is
“Asia’s first alternative men’s high-fashion and lifestyle journal. It
is the essential one-stop read covering men’s fashion, entertainment,
sex & relationship, fitness and features thought-provoking featured
stories on a wide range of issues that are connected with the Asian
LGBTI community in particular. Launched in March, 2013, ELEMENT
currently boasts an average of 18,000 circulation per issue.”
The associate publisher of Element Magazine, Hiro Mizuhara, said in the
press release, “Being able to broadcast the Pink Awards Live via Moovz
will definitely enable us to reach a wider audience around the globe.
The ceremony commemorates leaders in the LGBTQI Community in Asia and
collaborating with Moovz has helped us to achieve this common goal more
effectively.”
